Slick Takes the Crown as the ToC Race Tightens at Nip n Tuck

43 players came out to Nip n Tuck on Thursday, for a night that delivered a new Fall champion and tightened the Tournament of Champions race. Thank you to Nip n Tuck for hosting, Tournament Director Wes Petteway for running the evening, and every player who came out to support the game! Slick followed last week’s eighth-place finish by taking it all the way to the top, earning 58 points and a first Main Event win of the Fall season . Consecutive final tables have lifted Slick to eighth in the venue standings, just 20 points behind the current third-place total. Another victory would also meet the two-win minimum for consideration through the ToC’s wins qualification route. I Karla delivered a major rebound, turning last week’s 28th place into second place and 52 points . It was a first final table of the Fall season, and nearly doubled I Karla’s previous season total. No Lie rounded out the podium with third place and 46 points , building on the previous Thursday’s seventh-place finish. That finish put No Lie squarely on the heels of Misdeal , whose fourth place protected the venue’s third direct-seat position. Only five points now separate Misdeal’s 148 from No Lie’s 143. Ted DiBiase remains out front with 191, while Fred M added a ninth-place finish to hold second with 154. Those automatic-seat positions remain up for grabs as the season continues. Further down the standings, ECC made an especially valuable move. Eighth place delivered 36 points and left ECC 29th at the venue , inside the top-30 playoff eligibility line. With C4 holding 30th on 64 points and Costco Gary just outside on 60, the fight to reach the playoff is every bit as close as the battle for direct seats. A special welcome to Emc and Mtl , who posted their first recorded league results, finishing 23rd and 31st. Welcome back as well to JD , John O , and ImperialBiscuit , each making a first appearance of the Fall season. It was good to have you on the felt! Congratulations to Slick and everyone who made a deep run. We’ll see you back at Nip n Tuck next Thursday, for the next chapter in a very competitive Fall race!
