From the Rail with Tom Banis

The DTTF Weekly Report • October 11–17, 2026

Pull up a chair, folks. We’ve got some poker to talk about.

Six Main Events, 223 entries and six different winners. But the number that caught my eye this week was three.

That’s all that separated Samurai Jack and Heather B in the weekly points race. Jack finished with 146, Heather with 143.

Jack brought a win and three final tables. Heather played four tournaments and reached the final table in every single one.

Four appearances. Four final tables. Try getting through a week without running into Heather at the business end of a tournament.

Sunday: Misdeal gets the right deal

The week opened with 49 entries at Raise the Bar, where Misdeal collected a first Main Event win of the Fall and 64 points.

Ace Of Spades took second, and Samurai Jack finished third.

Keep Samurai Jack’s name handy. We’re going to need it again.

The Magician finished fourth, which turned out to be the opening act.

Monday: A little magic—and another appearance by Samurai Jack

At Bravo Pizza & Sports Bar, The Magician topped 33 entries for a first Main Event victory of the Fall. Sunday’s fourth place and Monday’s win added up to 94 points from two tournaments.

That’s a pretty productive two-night engagement.

Karen Red finished runner-up, with Kenny K third.

Meanwhile, Samurai Jack followed Sunday’s podium by winning the 24-entry tournament at Park Ave Diner. James S finished second, and Ayoo took third.

Two nights into the week, Jack already had a third and a first. That’ll get the points moving.

Tuesday: Ayoo moves up two spots

Ayoo apparently decided third place was a fine place to visit, but not somewhere to settle.

One night after the Park Ave podium, Ayoo won at Amsterdam Alley, topping 39 entries for 54 points and a second Main Event win of the Fall.

Slon finished second, with Shorty third.

Heather finished fourth. Jack finished fifth. Neither was giving the other much breathing room.

The Amsterdam venue race finished the week with Heather on 131 points, Sean W on 121, and Nas and Slon sharing third on 113. Wild Bill was right behind on 110.

If you’re watching the ToC race, keep that page bookmarked.

Thursday at District: Pat takes charge

With Anthony Mantuano directing, Pat M topped 41 entries at District for 56 points and a second Main Event victory of the Fall.

Wild Bill finished second, and Santa earned a first Fall podium in third.

Pat also walked away with the venue points lead: 156 to 146 over Mike Litwet 2.

Behind them, Steve Pa held third on 125, with Wild Bill just two points back.

Two points. That’s not much of a cushion in this league.

A nod, too, to Warren: a Fall debut at Bravo on Monday, then fifth place and a first final table at District on Thursday. A good way to introduce yourself to the standings.

Thursday at Nip: I. E. breaks through

Over at Nip n Tuck, I had 37 entries for a tournament that ended with I. E. taking a first Main Event win of the Fall.

A week after finishing 23rd, I. E. came back for the whole thing. That’s why we show up again.

Fred M finished second, while Les The Jeweler earned a first Fall podium in third.

The venue race left Fred third with 119 points, just one behind Yohan. I. E. was fourth with 109.

Another venue, another reason to count every point.

Second Chance deserves some ink

Shorty won Sunday’s Second Chance at Raise the Bar, followed by Wild Bill and Millz.

Ak took Tuesday’s Amsterdam Alley event, with RiverEm second and Chef third.

At Nip, Homerun picked up a second Second Chance win of the Fall, ahead of Vinny M and Black Widow.

An early exit doesn’t have to be the last word on the evening.

The numbers on my notepad

The week’s Main Event points leaders:

  1. Samurai Jack — 146
  2. Heather B — 143
  3. The Magician — 94
  4. Ayoo — 93
  5. Pat M — 92

Jack gets the weekly points honors. Heather gets a tip of the cap for four final tables in four tries.

And everybody chasing a ToC position gets the same advice: check the standings, find your next tournament, and get back to the felt. These races aren’t going to settle themselves.

Thanks to the players, dealers, directors and venues who made the week happen.

Until next time, keep the cards moving.
